It is with great pride and excitement that I can formally announce the new musical theatre work commissioned in Nashville, USA. HEY FLORENCE is a musical based on the lives and stories of nurses and will premiere in Nashville in 10th September 2009.
The material for this project has been in development over my past few visits to Nashville where I have been able to shadow nurses during their remarkable day to day lives and gather together stories and observations to form the body of the work. I am now deep into the writing of songs and script which will be presented to the nurses in an ongoing collaborative process. It is intended that nurses themselves will be involved in the performing of the musical and the recording of the cd soundtrack which will be launched the same time as the production.
